Paul Williamson

Canadian pianist Paul Williamson is a prizewinner of the CFMTA National Piano Competition (2014), the FCMF National Music Festival (2014), the WMC McLellan Competition (2020) the Shean Piano Competition (2022), and the Bader & Overton Canadian Piano Competition (2023). Recently, Williamson recorded his debut solo album featuring the music of Franz Liszt for Naxos Records. He has also recorded an album of the music of Canadian composer Tristan Zaba alongside Canadian soprano Mckenzie Warriner for the Centrediscs label. Alongside flutist, Arin Sarkissian, Williamson is a winner of the 2023/2024 IMAGINE Arts Incubator. Williamson holds degrees from the University of Manitoba (BMus), the Colburn School (MMus, AD) and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Musical Arts degree program at Northwestern University. His primary teachers include James Giles, Fabio Bidini, and David Moroz. Williamson is grateful to have his career supported by the Amron-Sutherland Grant for Young Pianists from the Colburn school.
