Originally from Northern California, Eliza Ching is an active collaborative pianist in the United States. She has performed at venues such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Millennium Stage and Terrace Theatre at the Kennedy Center. Eliza was recently awarded the “Best Collaborative Pianist Prize” at the 2012 E-Gré National Music Competition. Eliza currently serves as staff pianist at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and the Heifetz International Music Institute. She has previously been staff pianist at the University of Texas at Austin, North Carolina School of the Arts, and Aspen Music Festival. Eliza holds degrees in Piano Performance from Rice University and the Manhattan School of Music, and her doctoral degree in Collaborative Piano from the University of Maryland, College Park. Eliza has collaborated in performance with such artists as James Buswell, Daniel Heifetz, Mark Kaplan, Ani Kavafian, and Ian Swensen. She recorded the CD Cellobration with cellist Amit Peled, releasted in 2009 on Centaur Records.
